Correlation is not causation. You might end up sleeping more because of illness, but sleeping more by itself will not lead to illness. if you have metabolic syndrome, dehydration, hypothyroid heart disease or if you are sick, you might end up sleeping more than nine hours because you are tired and exhausted, that doesn’t mean that these illnesses are caused because you slept more than nine hours. Rather, if you haven’t slept for a few days or work night shifts and have a sleep dept, If you feel exhausted, it is okay to sleep for even 10 or 12 or 14 hours to make sure your body recovers properly.
