Restoring a vintage display cabinet - ASMR furniture restoration

I took on the challenge of restoring a stunning vintage stained glass display cabinet I found on Facebook Marketplace. Handmade by a local carpenter, this cabinet immediately caught my eye with its stunning stained glass doors.

Despite a minor flaw—a broken piece of glass that's hardly noticeable—I couldn't resist bringing this piece home. However, I felt that the abundance of wooden decorations detracted from the beauty of the stained glass doors. So, I made the decision to remove some of them, which might upset a few people. Once the excess decorations were gone, I started sanding down every inch of the cabinet to reveal its original wood. Trust me, it was quite the labor of love! But the final result was more than worth the effort.

To preserve and enhance the wood's natural beauty, I applied a clear protective varnish—a crucial step in ensuring this piece will stand the test of time.
