Back in 2010 I came to Illinois to visit with my oldest brother and other family related! My brother took me here to this neat Train Museum! You will notice my oldest brother at most of the time in the foreground but you will never see me.....I like to stay behind the camera....of course I am better looking..ha ha!
By far it is better to see this place in person then what I could show you in this video! This video is only half what I had videotaped and would not have the time to show all what we saw! Enjoy!

If you DON'T like trains you should go to the Illinois Railway Museum- you will change your mind. If you are interested in graphic design or industrial design, or any kind of design, or if you just like bright bold colors, or if you appreciate history or antiques or craftsmanship, or if you like old movies or novels or comic books or sci-fi or fantasy or anything that has ever had a train in it; in other words, if you have a pulse, you will love the IRM. Wander off in any direction and lose yourself time and space. When your feet get tired go to the depot and hop one of the several working trains that will be in service that day- the modest park entry fee is the only fee you will pay. Our favorite part was wandering down about a 1/4 mile spur of several tracks that we're lined with many old steam engines and a variety of cars in various states of decay. We called it the Steam Engine Graveyard. Talk about your original Steampunk!...These steam engines from the early 1900's are massive and powerful and weird beyond imagination. You just have to see it to believe it.
