🎬 Plot Summary
Manimaran (Sarathkumar), his father Poochi (S. V. Ramadas), and his grandfather Nagappan (M. N. Nambiar) are notorious for their short tempers, often resorting to violence over minor disputes. Only Manimaran's mother, Sivagami (Lakshmi), can control their tempers. Manimaran falls in love with Vaidehi (Devayani), a Brahmin girl, and seeks her hand in marriage. Despite caste differences, he forcibly marries her by tying the thaali around her neck during a temple visit. Vaidehi faints in shock, and her father files a police complaint, but to no avail. Sivagami welcomes Vaidehi into their home, and they begin their married life. However, Manimaran's violent nature leads to a tragic incident where his sister Uma dies during childbirth, causing Vaidehi to leave him. Manimaran realizes his mistakes and attempts to change, seeking to reunite with Vaidehi .
