Show jumping grid work to improve your horses jump with Kirstin Kelly. This video is a great grid for teaching your horse to keep a round balanced stride. Often weak horses will flatten in between jumps so this grid encourages them to keep their back round and their stride bouncy. The grid is three verticals with a stride between them. In between each jump is a rail on the ground which makes the horse stay round and bouncy. This grid improves your horses jump by teaching him to keep his stride round and elastic compared to long and flat. Show jumping grids help improve the horses jump by giving them confidence and building stronger muscles by ensuring that the horse is jumping correctly. If your horse jumps flat and hollow he will be getting sore and anxious so we need to train them to jump correctly all the time.
