🚨 Repeat Shoplifting Suspect CAUGHT with Target Cart Inside TJ Maxx | 1-Hour Full Police Bodycam | Eatontown, NJ (2023) 🚨

This 1-hour uncut police bodycam video shows the complete investigation, arrest, and processing of 25-year-old Maryeris Ernestina Velasquez Joya, who was apprehended after allegedly stealing nearly $500 worth of merchandise from a Target store in Eatontown, New Jersey.

At approximately 3:52 PM on September 22, 2023, Patrolman Matthew Schou of the Eatontown Police Department responded to a report of a shoplifting in progress at the Target store located at 56 State Highway 36. According to Target Asset Protection, a woman wearing a denim jacket had left the store after paying only for part of her purchase at self-checkout and exited with a shopping cart full of unpaid merchandise.

Patrolman Schou, along with other responding officers, searched the nearby TJ Maxx and located the suspect less than a minute later — still pushing a Target shopping cart inside TJ Maxx. The woman was identified as Maryeris Ernestina Velasquez Joya, age 25.

Outside the store, officers inventoried the contents of the cart and found a hospital-grade Elvie Stride Plus breast pump valued at $319.99 and approximately $180 in stolen cosmetic products, for a total value of $499.99.

Based on witness statements and Target surveillance footage, Joya was placed under arrest for shoplifting (2C:20-11B(1)). She was transported to the Eatontown Police Department, where she was photographed, fingerprinted, and processed, before being released with a summons to appear in court on November 14, 2023.
