University of Florida student builds animal prosthetics

When Ethan Caballero joined a club making prosthetics for children with limb differences, he thought about the ways he could make their impact even more expansive: Making animal prosthetics.

Ethan's idea of making prosthetics for animals has brought together students skilled in engineering, design, and veterinary medicine. The Pawsthetics Club's latest endeavor has them teaming up with the UF Veterinary Medicine program's surgical oncology group to create a prosthetic for dogs with distal radius cancer.

This is one of the many ways UF students bring a new and unique perspective to every problem they are faced with.
