Singapore govt slow to clear the air, less than upfront with potentially embarrassing issues: Pritam

Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh said in parliament on Wednesday (Aug 2) that the Singapore government was either slow to clear the air, or less than upfront with Singaporeans when it had to deal with "potentially embarrassing issues".

Citing the arrest of Transport Minister S Iswaran, the investigation into ministers K Shanmugam and Vivian Balakrishnan's rental of their Ridout Road bungalows, and a police investigation that made use of data from COVID-19 contact-tracing tool TraceTogether, Mr Singh said the events "reveal a pattern of behaviour over a period of time, of the PAP engaging in half-truths on matters of significant public interest".
