Puma Deviate Nitro 3

Puma puts some small but significant tweaks into its update to my 2023 Shoe of the Year. They’ve added some foam but also changed the drop, giving us one mm more foam in the heel and one mm less in the forefoot (10mm drop now vs 8mm drop last year). The pwrplate also gets a tweak that, to me, makes the shoe feel overall a bit more speedwork oriented. I enjoyed the shoe much more for a threshold repeats workout than I did for an 18 mile long run. It’s a touch firm for easy paces but loosens up so nicely for speedwork.
