In this full review, I drive the updated MG4 EV XPower in proper British weather to find out whether this electric hot hatch still makes sense in 2026 – and whether it’s genuinely the fastest car you can buy for the money.

The MG4 EV XPower sits at the top of the MG4 range, using dual electric motors to deliver 435bhp and enormous torque through an all-wheel drive system. It’s based on MG’s Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), but for 2026 it receives interior improvements, updated infotainment, enhanced driver assistance features and subtle styling tweaks.
