Ironic. Christian Bale's performance in American Psycho was brilliant, the man who played Batman years later, but also could play a Joker character if we see Bale's portrayal of the insane, crazy character Patrick Bateman.

Oh, and in American Psycho, the then future Batman actor "kills" Jared Leto, a then future Joker who's performance is one of the most criticized portrayals of the Joker. And now we have one of the best Joker's out there, thanks Joaquin Phoenix.
