Описание к видео Value-Added Producer Grant (VAPG) | Q & A Series with Ellen Rawley

What is the Value-Added Producer Grant (VAPG?)

In this second episode of 'A Conversation,' FarmRaise's Farm Funding Q & A Series, we'll hear from Ellen Rawley.

Ellen is the founder of Ellen Rawley Creative & Strategy which helps farms and food businesses launch & grow profitable product lines. Her go-to-market services include organic and food safety compliance, grant writing, and product strategy.

Since founding her business in 2016 Ellen has secured $800,000 in grant funding for budding farm businesses and helped launch countless products – some of which have been featured in Martha Stewart’s American Made Shop, Food & Wine Magazine, and Oprah’s list of favorite things.

Her work is based on both hands-on experience and research. As a Ford Foundation Fellow she analyzed values-based markets in both England and Germany. She has been recognized through speaking engagements with the Stonebarns Center for Agriculture, the Food Craft Institute, and the California State Grange.

She'll answer some of the questions you might have about the Value-Added Producer Grant (VAPG).

We'll cover the following questions:
1. What types of farms can apply for this grant? Who is it for? It says "value added" in the name so is it only for people making jams and sauces?
2. Once a farm knows they are eligible what can they use this grant to fund?
3. If a farm is in the working capital phase and they want to fund an ineligible activity (like throwing a harvest party that they think will bring more folks to the farm and result in sales), should they pass this grant over?
4. Is this only for established projects and farms or can new projects and farms also apply?
