This week I have been running far behind any idea of a normal schedule. It is spring going into summer and I have a lot of outside work to do, gardening and lawn mowing and trimming. I also have just hatched 9 chicks, out of 12 eggs set, and have been building a snake proof brooding cage to raise them outdoors instead of the laundry room. I also was waiting for new blades for the scroll saw ordered to make the thick cuts needed for these band saw box projects. Those came in yesterday so I jumped right on this box. A block of wood, five cuts, gluing and sanding to made a hinged lid box. I am not happy with the finished box. I made some mistakes gluing parts back together and the cuts did not line up and left larger gaps between the lid and body of the box than I would prefer. I also have to adjust to the new blades and find the right size teeth, teeth per inch, etc to make the best cut. The blade I used cut very well but left a very rough pattern on the face of the cuts. I had to do a lot of sanding which affected the finished product.
