Goku vs Naruto...As Fathers!?!

Dead or regrettably terrible fathers are an easily recognizable and commonly occurring trend through not only anime and manga, but fictional story telling in general as well. Throughout animanga there are many examples of fathers who are absent, dead, or that have done something terrible to their children leaving them irreversibly scarred. While some are obviously worse than others, I thought I’d take the time today to discuss two characters who at one point had discourse surrounding their parenting abilities, being Son Goku, a character who almost served as a sort of poster boy for this bad father trope for quite some time given dragon ball’s popularity and how popular asking the question of “Is Goku A Bad Father?” became in its fanbase. On the other hand is Naruto Uzumaki, someone who hasn’t been a father for quite as long yet still has made plenty of impactful and life altering decisions in his children’s lives that have permanently altered their courses, so this Father’s Day I elect to ask, who is the better father between Naruto Uzumaki and Son Goku?
