Skin Retouching Using Noise Filter in Photoshop

In this photoshop retouching tutorial, I will show you how to beauty retouch for great skin using noise filter in photoshop 2022.

First duplicate background layer press CMD + j or CTRL + J to duplicate the layer. Rename this layer to Color.

convert the layer to smart object.

Now go to filter - Noise - Dust & Scratches and adjust the radius and threshold to remove any strong details and texture but keep all the color information.

Click OK to proceed.

Now Click on the create new layer button and fill this with 50% grey. Convert this layer to smart object. Rename this layer to skin texture.

Now go to filter - Noise - select add noise and adjust the radius by about 10-20%. Keep distribution uniform and monochromatic checked.

Change layer blending to overlay. Now add gaussian blur and set the radius to about 2 pixels to generally soften the noise effect.

Group both layer and name the group "Retouching". Add mask to the group.

While mask active, go to image - apply image. This is where we create a blend that has both color and texture details.

Now select the brush tool and change the mode to overlay.

First select black color and paint on the unwanted areas like lips eyes nose and hair to remove the retouching effect.

Now change brush color to white, brush over areas of skin. As you do, the beauty skin will be revealed with each stroke.

All the layer are non-destructive so you may need to experiment with radius to get an effect that you like.

Our Skin retouch is complete. Final step, Iwill add some color grade luts to improve the overall lighting on the model.
