RELATIVE vs ABSOLUTE:

This is specifically for RELATIVE mode of the JDAM where the TPOD is used to locate & designate the target. In ABSOLUTE mode (where the JDAM is aimed at a pre-loaded TARGET POINT, or a target point loaded in flight via the CAS page) the HDG is NOT relative to the launching plane's course, it is an ABSOLUTE heading onto the target. i.e.; a HDG set a 90 degrees will hit the target from 90 degress IRRESPECTIVE of the heading of the launching plane. Important difference ! So ABS mode would always be used against a pre-planned target, RELATIVE mode against a target not known in advance.

The JDAM data block is in the lower right corner of the EHSD. It shows:
1. Priority target a.k.a. the first target to be "serviced"
2. Distance to priority target
3. Distance to LAR Max range.
4. TOF for the bomb if released at that moment.
5. TOI for the bomb if released at that moment.
The information is always refreshed for the priority target. They will freeze when no more bombs are available.
