On the evening of June 5th, 2025, Prince William County Fire & Rescue responded to a significant residential structure fire at 10300 block of Windy Ridge Ln in Nokesville, VA. Due to the rural location and lack of hydrants, firefighters initiated a rural water operation, shuttling water from the county fire training grounds to the fire scene.

Multiple fire and EMS units were dispatched, including battalion chiefs, engines, tankers, and support units. The coordinated effort showcased the complexities of rural firefighting and the critical importance of water relay operations.
