Mesa Mark V (c+ Mode) vs Mark IIC+ Metallica

Описание к видео Mesa Mark V (c+ Mode) vs Mark IIC+ Metallica

Using some of the DI tracks from an earlier video, I've put together a compare of some Metallica riffs with the Mark V in c+ mode compared to an original Mark IIC+. The amp settings are as indicated in the pics.

Signal Chain:
- IIC+ DRG
- Mark V 90w
- 2x12 Mesa Horizontal
- SM57 (Same position for both - on axis near between cab and cone)
- Apogee Quartet

Important to note:
- These were not set to sound alike rather with similar settings
- I don't typically scoop the V this much. These settings have been adjusted since the last video comparing the JP2C.
- These are not my usual preferred settings on the c+. I boosted the bass a bit too much and cut the mids more than I would typically.
- The c+ has all the pull pots pushed. Pulling the Pull Brights on the Vol 1 and Lead Master would add about 30-40% more saturation, harmonics and sizzle. Pulling the Treble shift and Pull Deep would add fatness. To that, this would be as tame as you could get the c+ sounding for a decent metal rhythm, whereas this is probably as aggressive as you could get the V sounding in c+ mode.

You could get the c+ to sound more like the V with certain settings but the original can go well beyond that.

The c+ has the best tone I've heard by a significant margin, but they both sound great to me. All the marks are killer, just different. This video in no way shows the potential of either amps or my preferred settings. Unbelievably great amps, hope that comes through in the recordings.
