The BC Soccer Referee Provincial Program hosted its annual pre-season camp at Simon Fraser University over three days. This event brought together the top referees from across the province in preparation for the 2024 League1 BC season and top amateur matches. The camp featured various activities designed to enhance the referees' communication skills, including technology implementation, on-field education, in-class group work and more!

Participants engaged in both in-class education sessions and practical on-field sessions. These training modules ensured that our referees were well-equipped to meet the expectations and demands of semi-professional and top amateur matches. The preparation at these camps is also a good opportunity for Canada Soccer to identify referee talent in BC that is ready for the next level.

Stuart Neely, General Manager of League1 BC, made a special guest appearance. Stuart’s insights and encouragement were appreciated by all participants, demonstrating the commitment of League 1 BC not just to player and coach development but to referee development as well.
