BMW has had a long and fabled history in motorsport, specifically at Le Mans. Their racers there have always been fast, loud, and most importantly, memorable. Their most famous LMP1 car, or Le Mans Prototype, was their BMW V12 LMR, which screamed past adoring fans with a wail that could only come from a V12. Its sleek, white bodywork made it one of the more handsome race cars at Le Mans, but the car soon got outdated and was only used for two years.

Now, though, BMW is poised to make a return, not to LMP1 (that Le Mans class was cancelled) but to its successor, LMDh, or Le Mans Daytona Hybrid. Their concept shows what they hope to be able to race at the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Its overall silhouette is very similar to other racers in this class (due to regulatory reasons) but the front end is distinctly BMW with two massive kidney grilles with purple accents that look quite good. Along with extremely small and narrow headlights, the concept gives off the aura of a futuristic race car that it is.
