The book records the rise of Yes Bank's co-founder Rana Kapoor, his style of functioning, the bank's rapid expansion under him as well as the reasons that led to Kapoor's downfall. In an interview with ThePrint's Remya Nair, Lall, who is also a senior journalist, talks about how Kapoor was extremely ambitious, vain and didn't hesitate to take shortcuts. He also talks about the failure of the bank's independent directors to check the surge in lending during Kapoor's time. Lall explains how Kapoor's attempt to keep his niece and daughter of co-founder Ashok Kapur from joining the bank's board triggered his own downfall.
