I bought a fifth-wheel from a dealership in Quartzsite, Arizona in August 2024; they, Desert Life RV on Main Street (He [Jay Thomas, veteran] moves around Quartzsite) agreed to fix several things before I returned in November along with delivering and setting up the 5th wheel for me the first week of November, 2024.

List:
Fix one fan blade on a four blade ceiling fan.
Propane tanks filled.
Living room/dining room slide - close properly
Kitchen table broke - unable to hold cup of coffee or tea without spilling
Sewer shut-off valves
Battery
Air Conditioner
Water heater
Refrigerator plugged in and cold.
Water hooked up
Sewer hooked up
Leveled and Stable
Screendoor Slide panel
Window shades

I knew from the beginning that the air conditioner was broken, and I didn't request its repair. The rest of the list he volunteered to fix. He even told me to have Handyman Jerry to fix it, and he would pay for labor after I arrived in November and questioned why things were not done.

I like my 5th wheel and decided I would deal with some things. These are the things I ended up paying out of pocket for because Jay Thomas, veteran, and owner of Desert Life RV didn’t take care of the issues he said he would.

When I arrived in November, he hurried over to the rig and installed a new battery. I thought, Kudos, this is an honorable man (#vethelpingvet). I was mistaken.

Thus, the ceiling fan is now fixed. I paid RV Pitstop to certify and fill the propane tanks. Unfortunately, the slide-out does not open properly even with the rig leveled and stabilized. When the kitchen table collapsed on me, he offered me another table that was in as bad of shape as the one that just fell apart. Sewer valves are a nightmare. I still have the black tank valve to fix. The easier fix of a screen-door slide panel, nope he hadn’t bothered to install one. Malfunctions turned into flat out not working, furnace, water heater, and a leaking hot water tank. He only tied up the window shades. He didn't restore them as promised. If he had spent the time doing quality fixes, it would have taken as much time as it did for him to do a hack job.

My rig remained unlevel and unstabilized, lacking sewer and water hoses until I purchased items and hired a crew to take care of the leveling.

Would I recommend him? NO. Tomorrow, I return to Parker to find out where my title and license plates are. Now, I did go to Parker with Jay Thomas, of Desert Life RV to transfer it from his business to me. Unfortunately, he didn’t have all the paperwork the clerk asked him for and she told him to bring it the next time he returned later in the week. More on this when I go to the DMV without Jay Thomas running interference.
