Small flags ###
You can see small flags and coats of arms on each person or club.

Each left flag means
Person : his nationality or a country he has roots in
If half or more of his roots are in another country, the foreign country's flag is added. His direct ties with a foreign country are checked by this rule.

Examples
1. If either of his parents is Turkish, for example, the flag of Turkey is attached to him.
2. If only one of his grandparents is Turkish, only german flag is shown.

This video doesn't regard an ethnic German in a foreign country as a foreigner.

Club : their home country

Each coat of arms on the right means
Person : his birth region or a region where he grew up
If he was born far from Germany, the birth region is omitted.
If he grew up outside his birth region, another coat of arms is added below. I mean he grew up if he lived there for 7 years or more before joining a senior team.

Club : their home region

Regions ###
regions in this video are mainly based on this map. - https://www.pinterest.jp/pin/89614602...
I made the map just for this video.
Please share your ideas to more properly divide Germany into regions.

Calculating appearances ###
"XI based on appearances" are the 11 players who played for the most minutes during a tournament.
I programmatically auto-calculated and verified the amount of appearances on transfermarkt.com and worldfootball.net.

If some players tie for eleventh place, the one who appeared longer in
1) the later (knockout) state or 2) friendly matches around the tournament
is selected.

If the 11 players with the most appearances don't fit well into one of their normal formation, only a player is exchanged for another suitable player.

A player with fewer total appearances who played only in a single position is sometimes selected for "XI based on appearances" replacing a player with more total appearances who played in multiple positions.

Ditermining a club for each player ###
If a transfer was completed before his last match at the tournament, his new club is shown.

If a club announced a transfer before the transfer window was open, the first day of the window is the transfer date.

Other topics ###
1. The team had no head coach until 1926

2. Regulation of the Olympic football tournament
Until 1980 only amature players were allowed to play in the Olympic football tournament (the age limit U-23 was introduced in 1992).
German football was not professionalized yet before World War II and Germany's full national team competed in 1912, 1928, and 1936.
Football in communist countries was not professionalized either and East Germany's full national team competed in 1964, 1972, 1976, and 1980.

3. Ruhrpolen
Ruhrpolen is a group who lived in the Ruhr area and they or their ancestors were migrants from Polish-speaking areas within the former eastern territories of Germany.
For instance, Fritz Szepan, who represented Germany in the 1930s, is one of Ruhrpolen. His father had immigrated from East Prussia to the Ruhr area for the mining job.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruhrpolen - This Wikipedia article includes Leon Goretzka in the list of Ruhrpolen, but this video doesn't categorize him as one of Ruhrpolen, since it's too old family history for him.
It is actually reported that Goretzka wasn't aware of his Ruhr polish ancestors. Except for his Polish origin surname, he has no relation to Poland now.
