Tales of Phantasia X - Final Boss [Cless Solo/No Damage/Mania Mode]

In this video, I take down the final boss from Tales of Phantasia X with Cless only and without taking any damage.
This fight is part of one of the main Solo runs from my channel.

Dhaos : Just like every other instance of Dhaos in this version, he is a punching bag... and even more. I guess they didn't care about this form because he lost all his resistances and has very few HP. The only noticeable part is that he can use Dhaos Laser from the beginning. Nothing special here, really.

Dhaos (Feather Dhaos) : GUH... Nightmare fuel. I present you the most stupidly designed boss of the game... and it wins by quite a large margin. This is one of the very rare boss that is actually harder in this version than the PSX/FVE ones. God it's a ridiculous fight. I think one of the designers was a Touhou lover and decided to add some projectiles. Dhaos will just spam them to death. You have no way to dodge them properly but using i-frames. Your options to even get close are limited to... 1? Fuck this fight.
Dhaos is a HP sponge and due to its large body, he is very weak to attacks like Jikuu Souhazan... Unfortunately since he's a stationary boss and that you can pass through him, most attacks won't be very useful. Even worse, they buffed his recovery speed and the speed of his attacks. You will almost always get countered and in a No Damage setting you don't want that to happen. Even Jikuu Souhazan won't assure you to be safe because he can still spit some bullets from his mouth. The only way to beat him is to use Jikuu Souhazan at a very specific range. I personnally use the red line on his... tail? to position properly. If you are too close, you'll get hit by the arm. If you are too far, he will spit bullets. I can prevent all of these at the range I am but I still have to mash super fast between 2 Jigenzans. Also, he can cast Revitalize and recover 300 000+HP. This fight is stupid. Don't watch it. Fuck this fight.

Dhaos (Plume Dhaos) : Ok. That. was. unexpected. This is probably the most fun fight I've ever had in any Phantasia version. ToPX, why did you have to wait so long to bring something interesting??? I always considered this form to be pretty boring in every version, but when it comes to No Damage, damn this is just incredible. This is one of the few fights where you can display some interesting dodges, skills and really use a strategy against Dhaos' attacks/pattern. Steps become a central part of strategies. Positioning is actually a thing. The only thing it's missing is the Dizzy system but you can't have everything~

I do spit a lot on ToPX but I still have fun with this game despite being so damn easy (and butchering the enemy attacks/AI) compared to its FVE counterpart. The game gives you more options and delivered a great final. FVE will be the complete opposite xD.
