Kovai Sarala was born on April 7, 1962 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, South India. She has four sisters and one brother. She's real name is Sarala. Also, she added the words "Kovai" with her name (birthplace).

After the Aachi Manorama in Tamil cinema, Kovai Sarala is the highest in comedy. Apart from the comedy, the world leader has paired up with Kamal. In 1983, she made her acting debut with the role of Bhagyaraj's "Munthanai Mudichu" in a short role. It was the turning point in many comedy films.

She started her schooling at a school in Kovai. Kovai Sarala, who was a good talker from an early age, was once an MGR. While visiting Coimbatore, someone introduced her. Knowing his skills, MGR told her, "You have so much talent with the help of the scholarship, she modeled MGR and, after growing up, automatically developed the intention to help others.She grew up watching the films starring MGR and wanted to serve people like him.
