This hike boasts easy access from Grand Junction in the Colorado National Monument Park in Mesa County Colorado. This 5 mile loop uses Wedding Canyon and the Lower Monument Canyon to access Independence Monument. Bring a camera! No matter which canyon you start with, it is about 2.5 miles to the monument and 2.5 miles back to the trailhead. There is minimal elevation gain (only about 775 feet) on the ascent.
