MANTIS and 100 FLIES! 【LIVE FEEDING】

Описание к видео MANTIS and 100 FLIES! 【LIVE FEEDING】

Hello, friends! Today, I’m going to tell you about how a mantis hunts flies when you place 100 flies in its terrarium. The mantis is a natural hunter, acting calmly and methodically. Unlike other predators, it doesn’t actively chase its prey. The mantis hides and waits until the flies come close enough. With its lightning-fast reflexes, it grabs the flies with its front legs and quickly begins feeding. Interestingly, when you release many flies into the terrarium at once, the mantis won’t eat them all immediately but will catch them gradually as needed.

This method of feeding is ideal if you plan to leave the mantis unattended for a week. The terrarium will always have available food, allowing the mantis to sustain itself by hunting whenever it desires. It’s important to note that this process is completely natural for the mantis, and it doesn’t experience any stress. Its instincts and feeding behavior allow it to adapt to these conditions and ensure it gets nourishment without constant owner supervision.

In the video, you can see the feeding process where the mantis was left unattended for 7 days and was found alive and well-fed. By the time of inspection, there were still about 30 flies left in the terrarium. To ensure effective feeding, it’s crucial to provide water or syrup for the flies so they receive the necessary nutrients and maintain their vitality.

Also, remember that this feeding method shouldn’t be repeated without necessity. To prevent flies from escaping when opening the terrarium, you should open it in complete darkness. This will allow you to safely set up shelters for the mantis and a feeding environment for the flies without letting the flies escape from the terrarium. When eating flies, the mantis also receives sufficient moisture along with the nutrients needed to sustain its vitality.
