As Denji is battered by repeated strikes from the weapon, he experiences a sudden realization and heads toward Fourth East High School. Upon reaching the school, he is struck once more by the spear, as Yoru taunts him, claiming that once she sees him broken and suffering on the ground, she will have won and will be able to force him into submission before enacting her vision of total human warfare. However, when Yoru reaches the rooftop, she suddenly stumbles and questions how she had been able to move at all moments earlier. It is revealed that Denji had previously consumed the Leg Devil, having been supplied with numerous pawns by Death under the belief that he was cooperating with her. Denji warns Yoru that he will continue devouring devils and dismantling her perfect world unless she allows Asa to retain control of her body, leaving the War Devil reduced to begging her enemy to stop.
