At one time Taylor sought the attention of the Disney studios to produce the story with his score, but for some reason Disney did not take the project.

As a concert piece, it frequently has been played at children's concerts employing a narrator. At other times, when performed without the narrator, it is a tone poem. The purely orchestral version is presented in this upload.
