When it comes to third basemen in Montreal Expos' history, this ballclub can never be accused of not giving their fans for their money's worth.

Before Tim Wallach first came along, a fellow by the name of Larry Parrish had made a name for himself in the league as one of it's great power hitters. Under late HOF manager Dick Williams, Larry would become one of the key players on this very successful end-of-the-70s team and one who many team members would look up to.

In 1979, Parrish was part of the all-star team and his 30HR-.307BA season that year had him considered for the MVP award although he didn't actually win.

With the arrival of young Tim Wallach on the 1981 team and looking for a batting-average-oriented kinda player, upper-management decided to send Larry to the Texas Rangers for Al Oliver, who was a quite accomplished player himself but only gave Montreal two years of baseball. Parrish on his side proved to be a very good acquisition for Texas with 6 very good full seasons. He would ultimately hit 149 HRs and rake in 522 RBIs with the Rangers over the course of 7 years while he had given Montreal 100 HRs and 444 RBIs in 8.
