If you are new to music creation, here's a quick video that shows you some of they ways you can create music using the tools inside of SONAR. A free SONAR Steam Edition demo is now available at store.steampowered.com

Track Templates are perfect for fast music creation.
1. Right-click in the Track Pane and select "Insert From Track Templates."
2. Pick "Drums, Bass, Keys and more"
3. An entire session loads without any setup.

You can play any synth with SONAR's keyboard controller.
1. Go to Views -- Virtual Controller/Keyboard
2. Use your mouse to play your synths, or
3. Access musical typing and play your QWERTY keyboard like a piano

You can create melodies fast with the Step Sequencer in SONAR.
1. Right-click in the Track View and select "View -- Step Sequencer"
2. Click, hold, and Swipe patterns.
3. Press Play to loop your songs and modify them in real time.

The Matrix (Alt+5) lets you loop sounds.
1. Build songs by dropping in sounds from the Browser. The Matrix has unlimited space, so drop in as many sounds as you like.
2. You can play each cell or entire columns.

Trying out other synths is easy.
1. Right-click on any snyth and choose "Replace Synth."
2. Choose another synth, and SONAR swaps it.

You can turn simple melodies into complex patterns with the Arpeggiator.
1. Click on "MIDI" at the bottom of the Inspector.
2. Turn on the Arpeggiator and choose a pattern.
3. Right-click on the MIDI clip and choose "Bounce to Clip(s)." The Arpeggiator pattern is now rendered as a new clip.

You can use the Arpeggiator to make complex chords as well.
1. Click on any clip, and access the Chords in the Arpeggiator. There are dozens of simple and complex chords available.
2. Right-click on the clip and choose "Bounce to Clip(s)."
3. Your clip transforms into a lush chord with tons of extensions. Repeat this for each clip to create complex chord patterns.
