FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2013 - OPENING NIGHT

After an incredibly successful inaugural year in 2012, VALT is ready to wow audiences again with spectacular fashion collections, powerful music, and moving art.

Our theme is broken into three parts for our three consecutive nights - Utopia, Dystopia and Techtopia - three potential futures.

NIGHT 1 UTOPIA
Utopia is the ideal future for many, a world in which humankind lives without toil or discomfort, with little to no effort being required for survival. A sweet and hopeful future that was the dream of the optimistic 50's, 60's, and early 70's.

Vancouver Alternative Fashion Week[End] - VALT provides Vancouver's wildly explosive alt-fashion scene with a unique departure from more traditional runway shows. This multi-day event boasts over 50 jury-selected artists, musicians, performers and fashion designers, in a celebration and promotion of unbridled creativity. #VALT2013 blends music, art, technology, culture and fashion into a fully interactive and immersive experience over 3 nights of futuristically-themed revelry.

VALT is run by SEAMS - The Style, Entertainment, Art & Media Society of Vancouver. This not-for-profit organization focuses on developing local arts programming that assists emerging and fringe artists of every medium and media in the province of BC, while fostering a community of culture appreciation
