I can almost guarantee that museum aficionados in the D.C. area haven’t been here. And I’m not sure if I want to give this place a great endorsement, because I like having it almost all to myself. Early August 2021 I went without doing any research beforehand. This hidden gem is right off the National Mall in a somewhat unassuming building that was once the house of a former U.N Secretary General. The room in the back with the blue tiles is one of those rooms that when you enter, you think. “What is this about”? I think I’m going to stay here for a while. The courtyard and the garden in the back makes you feel like you are hanging out in a villa somewhere in Argentina. I want to spend a hot summer day here in the courtyard overlooking the garden dressed in bright khaki chinos, a linen shirt and drink copious amounts of lemonade made with actual lemons.
