Sorry for the long pause in uploads.
My best friend sadly passed on the 23rd of September, and I have been struggling.
Add to this that I was planning to move, and the result is nothing has been done recently with the Cybertruck.
I have a new place that's probably better in some ways, and I will be moving there in the next week. Once I get settled, I will be moving forward with the project.
I had been thinking hard about what the sliding Vault lid would be made from, and in my research, I found the perfect material. I was talking on the phone to a company that makes aluminium sliding shutters and doors, when the suggestion to mail some samples arose. I gave them my address, and what showed up was absolutely perfect! They sent me four colours to choose from, gloss black, gloss champagne, brushed stainless, and clear satin. You'll see these towards the end of this video. I'm choosing brushed stainless. It's a steep price at well over $500- but comes complete with the rails. The quality of the finished product should prove it to be a good investment. It will be spot on cosmetically and easily strong enough for the dogs to stand on or handle items that are heavy.
