We were asked to designing a modern and environmentally friendly home for a couple.

The key requirements included a spacious, open-plan living area that maximised natural light and showcased the breathtaking views of the Cotswolds, while seamlessly blending in with the charming surrounding stone houses and farm buildings.

The couple took charge of managing the entire build process themselves, and this was further complemented by their extensive landscaping endeavours during the lockdown period.

The outcome is a stunning contemporary home that strikes the perfect balance between inviting, secluded spaces for the bedrooms and snug areas, and an expansive open-plan living and entertainment area. Our design also considered the couple’s desire to provide a comfortable space for their grown-up children to visit without feeling overwhelmed by excessive room - using what we call - the concertina effect.
