Long Island’s Only Dinosaur Carnival Returns December 21 to 31
The Center for Science to Host Third Annual Ten-Day
Dinosaur Themed Carnival in Rockville Centre

The Center for Science, home of Long Island’s largest permanent collection of animatronic dinosaurs, will host its third annual Dinosaur Carnival from Saturday, December 21 to Sunday, December 31, 2024. The Dinosaurs! And Live Animals Exhibit in Rockville Centre is open daily from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. During carnival days, families will enjoy dinosaur inspired carnival games, arts and crafts, free face painting, educational programs, encounters with friendly dinosaur characters and live animals, giveaways, prizes and more. Tickets are $12 for children ages 1-12, $15 for children and adults ages 13 and up and $12 for seniors over 65. Tickets can be purchased at the door. The Dino Carnival is free with admission to the museum exhibit. The event will be closed on Wednesday, December 25.
“Children love dinosaurs and our annual indoor Carnival is a great way to have fun and learn during the school holiday break. For children and families, we have set up a number of fun and engaging carnival games in and around our displays. Families will enjoy playing these games beside our more than 10 animatronic dinosaurs and 20 realistic dinosaur skeleton casts, some of which are over 18 feet tall,” said Dr. Ray Ann Havasy, Executive Director of The Center for Science.

The exhibit gives visitors a unique up-close-and-personal experience where they learn how animals adapt and survive. This is demonstrated through a unique intermixing of dinosaurs and live animals together. Families and children will be impressed by the floor-to-ceiling hand-painted prehistoric dinosaur murals. Live wild animals that are part of the exhibit, include owls, emus, golden pheasants, goats, snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs and more.
