Europe is going through profound changes in the last years when it comes to political movements, participation of citizens, and institutional politics. How have these changes come about in different European societies? What are the strategies that can bring results? What is the role of Greens and Left therein? What is populism in today’s Europe? How can the hegemony of the traditional, austerity-proning parties be defeated in the next years? Is Europe an appropriate laboratory for radical democracy?

The Federation of Young European Greens is organising a Strategic Planning Meeting for its member organisations from the 21st to 24th February 2016 in Brussels, Belgium.

A panel discussion will be held on Monday 22nd February 2016 at 17:00 CET entitled "Movements from Below - The New European Politics". Yiannis Bournous (Member of the Political Secretariat of SYRIZA; Head Responsible for European Policy, International Relations, Foreign Policy & Defense, Greek diaspora), Florent Marcellesi (Spokesperson of EQUO in the European Parliament) and Laura Slimani (President of the Young European Socialists) will share their views and visions with us, after which there will be an open conversation with questions and comments. The panel will be moderated by FYEG Spokesperson Teo Comet.
