As seen in the Netflix Series Another Self, this video shows a real case with Rebecca who wanted to discover the hidden dynamics that were causing her anorexia, low self-esteem and also addiction. Through symptoms, an illness can communicate to us what's missing or needs to be integrated into our lives. Symptoms can mimic or recreate some facet of trauma that has never fully resolved, or a step we missed or never fully completed.
Through symptoms, we are often forced to face a feeling or a situation we had been reluctant to confront. Listening to the language of illness in this way, we can take an action and undertake what is being asked of us.

In Rebecca’s constellation it shows how sexual abuse may operate in a family. As you can see in her case, sexual abuse appears to be passed down generations, and it seems to be the betrayal, secrecy, shame, guilt and the lack of those responsible owning up to their actions that leads to problems for the individuals involved and a continuation of the pattern flowing down through the family tree. We play out these patterns until we heal them. Yet these seeming blocks to thriving in life can actually be resolved rapidly when connection and the flow of love is restored in the family.

Family constellation is particularly well placed in being able to uncover the dynamic of sexual abuse delicately and in a non-judgemental way that can be both relieving and healing for the people involved.

It acts like a laser beam to pinpoint exactly what's blocking you from being happy, and what is stealing your peace and disturbing your well-being. It can quickly reveal unseen dynamics and hidden patterns that are causing you suffering.
The unresolved traumas can be passed on from our parents and grandparents. As a child and out of blind love and loyalty to our family members we unconsciously take responsibility and burdens that are not ours to carry.
