The urge to go is not a mere escapist at times; it is not to explore, not to travel, not to see, not to learn, and even not to enjoy. Sometimes you go because it's a mission. Mission of mind, of heart, of soul and of life.
One must stay moving, flowing and growing to see the real beauty of life and of oneself. God has hidden aesthetics everywhere, in everything and everyone. Those sometimes exist at faraway corners of our world, sometimes quite within, and sometimes in things that we would never expect to see beauty.
So yes - bit of a disclaimer: when I say I see beauty in pain and suffering, I do mean it. Because, if you would object and reject every polish, how would you shine?! Pain is also beautiful.
I challenged myself to go to Siurana - a majestic, beautiful village located in the Catalan mountains. I took the train to Reus from Barcelona, then a bus to a half-abandoned village in the middle of nowhere, and then I started walking. The scorching sun, the elevating land, the heat, and the ceaseless murmur of my own mind accompanied me on this journey. But I do like challenges. The almost make me feel alive. And also make everything worth the wait, worth the pain, the win.
I said not many in this world exist for a destination or a goal; some exist just for the path itself. If life was a riddle, these folks would merely enjoy the process of solving it, without growing desperate for the whole picture at the end.
Hiking and camping is a beautiful culture. It's primal, and almost a necessity for us humans. It connects us with the nature - every tree that you pass by, every terrain you walk, every rock you sat onto, every river you wash yourself through, every mountain you cross... connects us to something much more beyond us. And to be perfectly honest, to ourselves.
This cinematic adventure, a road trip, a hiking journey, a camping challenge; whatever you want to call it... is for those who feel life. Who feel and feel endlessness, deeply. For romantic souls. And also indeed for cinema enthusiasts and nature lovers. Travelers in Spain or Catalonia (Barcelona). For those who like reflective films; those who like philosophy, self-development. But foremostly, this film is for those who chase beauty and aesthetics. Both divine and man-made. For I think, that's our mission. Se beautifully, and live beautifully.
