so McLOUD was this free improvising burly prog rock power trio that practiced and played out in NYC for a few years, a few years back. It wasn't the 'main band' of any of the participants but they had a lot of fun making loud, unpredictable rock. Some time after McLOUD's initial run the same trio played gigs as the instrumental unit of King Missile. McLOUD was Dave Rick on guitar, Roger Murdock on drums, and Matt Hunter on bass. (collectively/formerly of King Missile, Bongwater, Silver Jews, New Radiant Storm King, Phantom Tollbooth, J Mascis and the Fog, Yo La Tengo, SAVAK etc.)
There was a lot of improvisation with some loose song frameworks but they never played a song the same way twice, always throwing in extra beats or noises, getting the others' attention to change direction.

This is unheard music from a few years ago. Toward the end of their run in April of 2015 they recorded a 4 hour continuous instrumental session with Jason Loewenstein of Sebadoh engineering. Years later they hadn't done anything to make it available to people so their #1 fan got a copy, cut out some highlights and is now sharing the private psychedelic reel, 5 tracks starting off intense and gradually mellowing out, sequenced for notional LP, live with no overdubs, publicly available for the first time. It's party hanging out music, I don't even know what the kids (by which I mean musically open-minded people under 30) are listening to in 2022 but it could be this.

If anyone ever wanted to put it out on vinyl it was cut from mp3s but I have good notes so it could be reconstructed from the .wav pretty easily.
