The Month that Changed Humanity (Muharram)

Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar. It is the Muslim version of 1st of January, so for many, it marks the beginning of something new. But Muharram holds a much greater significance in the hearts of Muslims for multiple reasons. Right at the top, is because it is linked to the migration of Rasool (ﷺ) from Mecca to Medina which marked a profound change for all of humanity.

Responding to the order of Allah (سبحانه و تعالى‎), Messenger (ﷺ) made sacrifices and left his hometown, his family and travelled to a completely new place to make a fresh start and share the message of Islam. This is when Islam really started to spread, creating the chain of change locally then globally; allowing us to practice Islam today in 2021.
