Honestly, I created this film to help my people decompress from seeing constant images of lifeless Black bodies and narratives of Black death on their social media feeds. In the words of Sam also known as Juju Bae, a spiritual healer and podcast host for A Little Juju Podcast, "Niggas die differently", and as a result we grieve differently too. This video is a visual of ancestral reverence, honoring the dead, honoring ourselves by holding space for us to grieve and process the array of emotions associated with death and injustice, reconnecting to our inner light and spirit, finding release and joy in the midst of chaos and uncertainty, healing our mind, body, and spirit, and gaining the strength to go forward. We are a resilient people. We shall overcome. Let's holding space for each other with love, compassion and empathy.
