On His triumphant entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, Jesus rode on a young donkey that no one had ever ridden before (Luke 19:30) Here are three spiritual reasons associated with this event

First:

By riding on donkey Jesus fulfilled a prophecy about the Messiah written by the prophet Zachariah. (Zechariah 9:9)

Second.

By riding on a donkey Jesus not only accepted his title of King of the Jews but let the people know that He came to bring the peace proclaimed by the angels upon His birth (Luke 2:14).

Third.

By riding on a donkey Jesus was showing His meekness and humility and creating a strong connection with the common people.

Jewish people were expecting a Messiah who would liberate them from the roman oppressor. But that was not Jesus purpose. Jesus came to earth to fulfill God’s plan of salvation by faith alone.

Palm Sunday is a perfect day to receive the peace that only Jesus can offer and accept Him as your Lord and Savior.
