The upcoming Marvel event, "Avengers: Secret Wars," will feature the return of several heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch is one of the most highly anticipated returns. This film, based on the 2015 comic book event, will see the Multiverse torn apart, leaving endless possibilities for the sixth Avengers film. Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, is revealed to have immense power in the Disney+ series "WandaVision" and is prophesied to either rule or destroy the Multiverse.

In the movie "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness", Scarlet Witch showcases her immense power by battling against the sorcerers of Kahmer-Taj and Earth-838's Illuminati. Despite turning villainous due to losing her children in "WandaVision", she ultimately sacrifices herself to destroy the Darkhold, the corrupting book. This sets up her potential return in the upcoming film "Avengers: Secret Wars" as a pivotal character. The temple built in her honor in "Multiverse of Madness" supports the possibility of Wanda fulfilling the prophecy of ruling or destroying the Multiverse.

Scarlet Witch's apparent heroics in destroying the Darkhold may have caused multiple incursions and the fracture of the Multiverse, leading to the events of Secret Wars. Her actions may have fulfilled the prophecy that she'd once claimed was false.

The mid-credits scene in the movie "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" introduced Charlize Theron's Clea, who confirmed that an incursion had occurred in the MCU. The cause of the event remains undisclosed, but it is likely that Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, caused the collision by destroying every version of the Darkhold in every reality. This action caused rippling effects throughout the entire Multiverse, potentially causing incursions on multiple Earths. The possibility of a grand-scale incursion in "Avengers: Secret Wars" opens the door for multiple cameos from characters hailing from throughout Marvel's cinematic history and the potential for the MCU to go through a reboot of sorts. The film may also see the introduction of mutants to the franchise.

DynastyAvengers: Secret Wars is an upcoming superhero film, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. The film is a sequel to The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. It is the forty-second film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the final installment of Phase Six and The Multiverse Saga. The film is set to be released on May 1, 2026.
