Описание к видео DuckTales Soundtrack: The Perilous Skies

Title: The Perilous Skies
Series: DuckTales
Composer: Ron Jones
Year: 1987
Length: 1:30

One of Ron Jones's greatest works, this intense cue first played in S1E5 "Too Much Of A Gold Thing", the last episode in the "Treasure of the Golden Suns" pilot special, although it was likely composed for "Armstrong". While it only played a handful of times in the series and was not used as often as other cues, the piece is notable for being one of the more musically complex and better orchestrated cues that was composed for the series. It predominantly features a sequence of repeating strings present throughout nearly the entire piece, changing in pitch every few seconds. The main string sequence is also accompanied by horns, which can be consistently heard from start to end, and various other instruments - all of which contribute to a masterfully crafted piece of music that greatly emphasized many of the series's exciting battle scenes.

This is my first rip from the show in which I had to put together a bunch of scenes from different episodes to get the cleanest audio with the least SFX. I primarily used the Armstrong battle scene because that had the least voices and had the highest audio quality, and then used bits from a few other Season 1 episodes to fill in the parts that had voices. Ultimately, I also tried to get the most SFX out, but the result was somewhat decent, far better than I expected. There are no intelligible voices in this rip, but there is quite a bit of airplane SFX from the Armstrong battle scene, which I did use as the foundation for this rip, but I tried my best. I also tried to get the short bridge section of this cue (which plays only sometimes), but unfortunately I could not, so I had to go for the shorter version of the cue. Overall, I was able to get 80% of the entire cue.

Played in the following 9 episodes, listed in chronological order:

005: "Treasure of the Golden Suns, Part 5: Too Much Of A Gold Thing"
006: "Send in the Clones" ◉
009: "Armstrong" ◉ ▲
013: "Hotel Strangeduck"
014: "Lost Crown of Genghis Khan"
040: "Merit-Time Adventure"
044: "Back Out in the Outback"
054: "Launchpad's First Crash"
057: "The Uncrashable Hindentanic"

(An episode marked with a black triangle means that the cue was likely composed specifically for that episode, and an episode marked with a black dot means that part of the cue from that episode contributed to the final recording that I have pieced together.)
