The mind is one but acts as if it is dual when we are in the body. The higher mind is the seat of our individuality which is the permanent part of us. Our personality is a part of our lower mind which thinks it is in control. Thoughts are real things that are never lost. This is a subject that comes up extensively in the work of HPB, WQJ, etc. Everything is dual. The manifested logos and processes it goes thru in evolving the universe includes the concept of duality. Atman corresponds to the Supreme Essence, Buddhi is the highest principle within us. The third logos corresponds with the universal mind, Mahat. The three (Atma, Buddhi & Manas) are our higher principles. Kama, the animal soul, is the desire nature and represent passions. Desire in itself is colorless but the lower desire nature is personal and most often selfish and that can lead us astray. Kama, prana, astral and physical are all our vehicles and all of them should be pointed toward the higher mind. Link between the brain and the mind. Where do we root our mind? Do we align it with Buddhi or with Kama--higher mind or lower mind? Discussion of the evolving life wave. It takes persistent effort to stay in the Manas mode; with less than persistent effort we sink into the Kama mode.
