Скачать или смотреть Guatapé, Colombia - we climbed the rock, took a boat tour, and walked around the colorful town!

Guatapé is a cute town about 2 hours away from Medellin. Although there are cheaper ways to visit on your own we decided to book a tour through TripAdvisor. It was only $30 per person and included the bus, tour guide, lunch, boat tour, and walking tour. It was thoroughly enjoyable and we will not forget our day in Guatapé.
We started at the El Peñól de Guatapé - a 7,000ft monolith that you could climb. There are 708 steps up and it is just that - a staircase that takes you to the top for a great view. We really felt our legs burning but we made it to the top!
After that we stopped for lunch then got on a boat for a nice lake tour. It was a nice time to rest and relax.
The last part of our tour was a walk through the town of Guatapé. We learned about the history and why all the buildings are so colorful. The zócalos (murals) are all different - some tell stories and others are what the family wanted. So colorful and fun to walk around the town! After our official tour we had some free time. We found a playground for Emmett to enjoy then we were back on the bus back to Medellin. It would be nice to have more time in the town to explore but happy we were able to visit!
