Unlock 2X performance on H710P mini RAID controller | PowerEdge Tips

In this video, I'm going to show you guys how to unlock 2X PCIe bandwidth performance on your H710P mini RAID controller. There are 3 variants of the H710P mini RAID controller and of those 3, one of them is capable of PCIe 3.0 x8 and has the LSI SAS2208 Rev D1 chipset. That one is Dell P/N 0TY8F9. The other 2 variants are Dell P/N 0TTVVV and 0N3V6G and these only support PCIe 2.0 x8 and use the older LSI SAS2208 Rev B0 chipset. So, if you want to enable PCIe 3.0, be sure you have the TY8F9 part.

In this video, at 12:09, I show exactly how to enable PCIe 3.0 for the H710P mini. After that, I boot into the OS to confirm that the controller is indeed running at PCIe 3.0 speeds.
