EPS is a pension scheme for employees of the organized sector in India, which is administered by the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). The scheme is mandatory for all organizations that have 20 or more employees and provides a defined benefit pension to its members. The pension amount is calculated based on the employee's salary and service period. The employee and employer both contribute a certain percentage of the employee's salary towards the EPS. The scheme also provides for death and disability benefits for its members.
