小田急3000形は好きですか？　それともあまり好きではないのですか？！
この電車は食パン電車とも称されるあまりにも特徴的なデザインで登場したことと、従来の小田急電鉄の通勤形電車とデザインや車体構造がかけ離れていることもあり、2001年の登場時から常に大きな賛否がありました。
2001年製の初期車はワイドドアとして登場しましたが、その後すぐに一般的なドアのデザインに変更となりました。2004年以降は走行機器が変更されたタイプが大量増備され、一気に小田急線でよく見かける電車となっています。

6両32本、8両15本が揃いましたが、2009年から2010年にかけて一部の6両編成が中間増備車を増結する形で10両編成に変更され、初めて10両固定編成が登場しました。
2017年以降は一部の8両編成に中間増備車を組み込む形で10両固定編成に変更となり、特に現時点で最終増備の車両は5000形とほとんど同じ時期に作られたこととなります。

その他にも液晶画面の設置や車内照明のLED化、さらに2022年からは6両編成の後期車を対象にリニューアル工事が始まるなど、バリエーションの豊富さが特に目立つ電車となっています。

6両編成は他形式と連結することがあり、今までに連結したことがある電車は、廃形式含め、4000形、5000形、9000形、1000形未更新車、8000形未更新車、1000形リニューアル車、8000形リニューアル車と非常に多岐に渡っています。

常に変化し続け、多様な一面のある電車ですが、一方でこのデザインが気に入らない人も結構多いようですね(笑)
